In a world of vampires, humans, and shifters - love happens. In an american city three unique and unusual romances spring up amongst a group of friends and acquaintances, resulting in romance, drama, and betrayal.This was an enjoyable series - and I definitely recommend you read it as a series. Normally when an author writes a series each couple gets their own book that tells their story, but in this series the books and stories are interlaced much more than usual, though each couple does still get their own book. It would be difficult to get a good grasp on the later book(s) without reading the first ones though.
One of the difficulties I often find with paranormal books is one that is present in this series. The "rules" of the paranormal word are often unique to the author's world and clumsily presented. This leaves the reader constantly being jarred out of the storyline as we try to adjust mentally to the new rules of this world. This was a problem with this series, but wasn't so much of a problem it left me irritated.
When I figured out that all of the couples in the story were going to have a heavy influence in each book I was worried I wouldn't have the chance to "bond" with the individual couples - but that wasn't a problem. The author does an outstanding job of giving each character their own space in the story to allow the reader to bond with them.I would have liked to see more character progression, but there was enough to appease me, particularly in the last book.
Most importantly for an erotica romance book - the sex scenes were hot. I usually skip them to be honest,because most of the time the love scenes are unimpressive and repetitive. But not with these books - they are well written and unique.
The first book took longer for me to get into it than I usually would. But once I got into it, I was hooked. Don't give up after the first few pages, it does get better. The second and third books have a good enough transition from the previous book that it would have felt like a continuous story except for the ending of the previous books.
The most enjoyable part of this series was without question the characters. I enjoyed getting to know them all - not just the main characters, but the secondary ones as well. The secondary characters (parents, friends, etc) aren't just assistants to the main characters, they have their own unique personalities and stories - and they are very well demonstrated in the writing. It isn't very often I bond with secondary characters as well as the main characters, but I did here. The author has the best character presentation in a story I have seen in a long time.
The thing I most disliked in the story is what I call "dead areas", where the story progresses by being explained and told, not shown. There were too many of those areas in this series - more in the first and second books than the third. In this area I can see what is half author improvement and half "you already know how the lore of this world works, I don't need to explain it now."
All in all though, this was a very fun read. I would buy more books by this author.

Book 1 Wonderful story! The characters were fun to follow. Vaughn & Naya were a wonderful match. He is extremely sexy & alpha with a ton of loving & caring thrown in. She is kinda naive due to parental coddling and expectations. The multiple sex scenes were hot & vivid. I can't wait to see what happens with the next couples in book 2 of the series! I will definitely continue this series.
Book 2 Loved this story!! Book 2 in the Forbidden series. Payton & Damien's story was awesome! The winds of change are blowing hard. Separation is becoming a thing of the past. Payton is the alpha cat's daughter. Damien is the alpha wolfs son. Throw some friends from book 1 into the mix and the story heats up. I can't wait to read about
Sawyer/Kenzie & Phoenix/Dante & Zane/Isabelle. 💜
Book 3 Another GREAT story in the Forbidden series!! Love/hate relationship for sure. I loved all the swerves thrown into this one. I totally thought I saw where it was going and BAM nope. Kenzie & Sawyer's story was sexy and entertaining. It pulled at my heart strings sever times. I LOVED Naya's rant! She was magnificent! I was crying & cheering at the same time. I can't wait to see how Phoenix & Dante's relationship evolves. And what's gonna happen with his 'crazy stalker'. On to book 4!!

From the first page of Forbidden blood I was yanked into the world of vampires, shifters, and humans like not other! As a fan of Christine Feehan, Sherilyn Kenyon, Shelly Laurenston and Nalani Singh this series is fresh!
Forbidden Blood introduces you to Vaughn and Princess Naya (shifter and vampire) who discover love and re-introduce their generation to shifters and vampires to each other. Why would they need the introduction? Gotta read the book. Here you are introduced to an array of characters on both sides who entertain you while wrapping you up in a mystery of who is out to destroy Vaughn's family.
Forbidden Heat continues the with Payton and Damien ( cat and wolf shifter)who are from different shifter packs. Damien's goal is to protect his pack from disaster from his fathers plans of domination by rescuing and hiding Payton. Which is a challenge since Payton is in transition, will she get more than an itch scratched by Damien? This story takes you on the rollercoaster of mystery, love, and alpha battles.
Forbidden Temptation is the story of Kenzie and Sawyer (human and shifter) and the trails that come with overcoming your past to be with the one you love which can complicated when you both have to escape kidnappers and overcome amnesia.
The cast of families and fronds involved in all of the stories will enrapture you into reading the next story in a hurry! If you're looking for mystery, laughter, alpha fights, and characters that will make you laugh and cry check this series out!

The Forbidden Series by R.L. Kenderson is wonderful. It's one of the best set of paranormal romance novels I've ever read and I've read hundreds of them. These two ladies must be best friends for them to be able to write so wonderfully together. The characters seem so real. I love that even though they are supernatural the characters dull have everyday human traits. They love, fear, have friendships, prejudices, heartache, family and need to be accepted. The love scenes are hot and extremely well written. In so glad I found these authors to add to my favorites. I can't wait till book 4 comes out.
